DIY-Handprint-Christmas-Ornaments_0002_via-www.thegoldjellybean.com_

Today Sydney and I have an assembly line of handprint christmas ornaments going. I remember making one when I was a kid, and it still goes up on my mom’s tree every year. Now, we’ll have one to put on our tree every year!

We made a dough using 2 c. flour, 1 c. fine sea salt, and 1 c. water. Mix all ingredients together and knead for about 5 min. Then roll the dough out, about 1/2″ thick, and use a cup or bowl to cut out circles.

Now let your little one go to town making handprints in the dough. You will want to work quickly, as I found it started drying fairly fast. I also used letter stamps to add Sydney’s name to the ornaments.

I set the over for 200 and popped them in  for 2 hrs. It may take a little more or less time depending on how thick you make them. You can also let them air dry for a day or two.

Then let cool, and paint away. We went with a classic gold, and spray painted them. You can also use this recipe to make other shapes, just break out the holiday cookie cutters!
